Houston became the meeting point for Oxford Sales Firm and industry professionals on July 24–25. Over two days, the conference moved from conversations about organizational goals and business perspectives to role-specific development, leadership discussions, and a series of promotions and recognitions that highlighted the people driving that progress.

For CEO Starkey Gabel and our Oxford Sales Firm team, the conference was an opportunity to continue building connections across our industry while gaining ideas and perspectives to bring back to Charlotte.

Starting With Progress and Perspective

Friday opened with an organizational meeting that highlighted recent accomplishments and outlined priorities for the months ahead. Top-performing leaders were recognized for their work, followed by discussions around upcoming goals and initiatives.

Following the organizational meeting, attendees participated in breakout sessions covering topics including Veterans in Business, Women in Business, and Black Entrepreneurs.

These conversations created space to recognize the different experiences people bring into the professional world. The Veterans in Business session explored how military service can translate into professional skills, leadership, discipline, and business development. The Women in Business session offered an opportunity to discuss women’s experiences building careers and pursuing leadership opportunities, while highlighting the importance of professional support and representation.

The Black Entrepreneurs session focused on entrepreneurship, professional experiences, and the perspectives that come from building businesses while navigating different personal and cultural experiences. Conversations like these can encourage greater understanding while giving professionals opportunities to learn from experiences outside their own.

A Day Focused on Performance and Leadership

Saturday began with a campaign meeting that continued the focus on performance and progress. Top performers were recognized for their accomplishments, and the team discussed campaign-specific goals and future expectations.

The general session followed with speakers, panels, and additional recognition for individuals reaching significant promotions. These presentations provided opportunities to hear different perspectives on leadership, performance, and professional development while celebrating the people putting those principles into practice.

Attendees then moved into role-specific breakout sessions. Rather than having everyone join the same discussion, team members were placed in sessions aligned with their positions and responsibilities. This made conversations more relevant to the work individuals are doing and the skills they are developing in their roles.

Celebrating the Work

The weekend ended around the dinner table, where the focus shifted toward celebrating the people who had reached new milestones. Promotions and awards recognized the consistency and performance that had earned those moments, giving the Oxford Sales Firm team one final opportunity to celebrate the weekend together.

For Oxford Sales Firm, the National Conference was an opportunity to reflect on the work already done while gaining perspective on what comes next. The conversations and recognition throughout the weekend gave us plenty to take back!

Events like this reinforce the value of continued professional and leadership development. By bringing professionals together around shared goals while making space for different perspectives, the conference created an experience that will continue to influence our work at Oxford Sales Firm long after returning to Charlotte.
